There are 3 reasons for this.

Stokes is adept at taking on fast bowlers in the powerplay. He is also a good helper as he is not as afraid of swing as Conway and Gaikwad.
Reason 3 – Conway – Spin: Conway spins well. Conway will be a good player to face the spin bowling in the middle overs. This could drop him at number 4 in the middle order. He will help the spinners like Dhoni in the middle.
