Rumen Radev welcomes participants in student guard units on the Day of Courage and a holiday of the Bulgarian Army
The Bulgarian Guardsmen are one of the symbols of statehood, the embodiment of native traditions and the glorious victories of the Bulgarian Army, a standard of honor and valor.
This was stated by President Rumen Radev in front of young people from student guard units, whom he welcomed today at “Dondukov” 2 on the occasion of May 6 – Day of Courage and a holiday of the Bulgarian Army.
The head of state welcomed to the presidential institution young people from the student guard unit and the brass band at the Professional Technical High School “Dr. Nikola Vasiliadi” – Gabrovo, as well as the student guard units at the Professional High School for Agricultural Mechanization “Peyo K. Yavorov” – Gotse Delchev , Secondary School “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” – Rudozem and Municipal Youth Center – Ruse.
In the Hall of Arms, the captains of the units handed over their oaths to the head of state and supreme commander of the armed forces Rumen Radev, the press center of the presidency announced.
The initiative is of the “Youth Guards” association, whose goal is to revive the patriotic feeling in young people, as well as education in a spirit of love for Bulgarian history and traditions.
In his welcome, President Radev congratulated the leaders of the Youth Guard units for the successful development of the initiative, which already includes 20 Youth Guard units and 4 Youth Guard orchestras.
The Head of State welcomed the desire and dedication of the youth to follow in the footsteps of the National Guard unit and reminded them that they are an example to their peers both in their studies and in their deeds.
“Learn from the deeds of the builders of modern Bulgaria and follow their covenants. Grow up as good people and worthy Bulgarians, responsible to our society and country and don’t forget that we all rely on you, because you are the future and the hope of Bulgaria, President Rumen Radev emphasized to the young Guardsmen.
