TERENTO The Carabinieri of the RIS also seized the private car of Aaron Englthe 24-year-old woodcutter found half-decapitated around 9 am on Sunday 18 August near Malga Raffalt, at 1,600 metres above sea level, in the municipality of Terento. In addition to the Audi Q5, the young man’s off-road vehicle and chainsaw were also seized, next to which his body was found.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Carabinieri are investigating the case in all its aspects. The post-mortem examination had allowed the coroner to trace the time of death, which occurred between 5 and 6 am. At the moment it is awaiting the outcome of the autopsy ordered by the Prosecutor’s Office and carried out on the afternoon of Tuesday, August 20. In the meantime, the funeral of the young man has been set for 3:00 pm today in the church of Terento. The mayor of Terento, Reinhold Weger, will also take part.
Engl was a very well-known person within the community: in addition to being a “ranggeln” wrestler, an ancient form of wrestling practiced by the German population of the Central Alps, he was also the leader of the “Schuhplattler” of Terento.
