A Mystery Hero Saves Man in Distress: Ambulance Nurse on the Search
Late on October 31, an emergency call came in for an ambulance in the small town of Rånäs in Norrtälje municipality. A man had been found outdoors in a ditch, and the case was marked as high priority.
Ambulance nurse Anette Björkén recalled the night’s conditions, “It rained in torrents and was snoringly cold, really bad weather. And we had about seven kilometers, maybe a mile to get there.”
Despite the challenging weather conditions, the ambulance arrived within five to ten minutes. Upon their arrival, they were surprised to find a young man with an epa tractor already on the scene, assisting the man in distress.
According to Anette, the young man explained that he had driven past, noticed something in the ditch, and stopped to help. He had taken off his jacket and draped it over the man to keep him warm.
“I thought it was absolutely fantastic,” Anette said of the young man’s quick thinking and selfless actions.
The man, who was cold and wet, was transported to the hospital and appears to be doing well. Before leaving the scene, Anette expressed her gratitude to the young man for his kindness.
“He was very cute,” she said. “He said it was obvious to him to stay and help.”
Despite the gratitude she feels, Anette unfortunately never got the name of the mystery hero. Determined to express her thanks on behalf of the ambulance staff, she took to a local Facebook group to seek out the young man from Rimbo.
“There was a lot of interest in the post, so I hope someone will get in touch. I would love to get hold of him to say thank you,” Anette expressed.
