Sixteen citizens were detained in flagrante delicto in the last two days by the National Police, in Lubango, Huíla province, in possession of 20 kilograms of cannabis, intended for sale.
The information was released today, Friday, in Lubango by the interim spokesperson of the PN in Huíla, inspector Benedito Walter, noting that citizens, aged between 18 and 38 years were arrested, Wednesday and Thursday, in the neighborhoods from Mitcha, Tchavola and Mutundo, in an operation carried out by the corporation.
He stated that of the 16 young people, four acted as a group and the rest individually who had been buying, consuming and selling the product since 2022 in various parts of the city and on the outskirts of the neighborhoods of Nambambe, João de Almeida, among others.
He highlighted that in their possession a stolen laptop computer was also found.
He highlighted that they supposedly bought the product from a gentleman in the Mutundo neighborhood, a citizen that the police are investigating for his location and subsequent arrest.
Benedito Walter, even without specifying the number of arrests in the current year for such practices, stressed that it was not the first, but discouraged, as in addition to being illegal, they cause severe damage to human health. EM/MS
