Young people mobilized against AIDS

On the occasion of the 7th Global Fund Replenishment Conference, from September 18 to 21, 2022, in New York, we followed the work of a small NGO in the field which benefits from the support of the Global Fund.

The SAS Center (Social Action Solidarity), based in Bouaké, Côte d’Ivoire, has been active since 1995. It specializes in monitoring young people born HIV-positive or who contracted the disease very early, during life’s often tragic accidents. Until now, there was no program for these teenagers, while this period of life is very special, especially when you are a carrier of the virus. How are adolescents treated and monitored? What are their backgrounds, their questions? How do they envision the future?
