Chennai: “Young women should become entrepreneurs and provide employment to many people,” said Daniela Bass, Director of the Cooperative, Social and Economic Division of the UN.
On behalf of Working Women’s Union, Indian Women’s Cooperative Linkage Centre, United Nations Commission on Social Development, yesterday, an online consultation meeting was held on the topic ‘Cooperation and Development of Adolescent Girls’.

In the world, the status of women has changed a bit. However, they are experiencing stagnation in society and economy.
For their upliftment, the Working Women’s Association and the Indian Women’s Co-operative Linkage Center are laudable for providing loan assistance, vocational training and upliftment to women. So far, 6.20 lakh people have become members and 285 people have become entrepreneurs.
Still, many more need to be entrepreneurship. Many people should be given employment. Only then, our goal will be fulfilled.
