Youth and Sports mobilizes efforts to prepare Basra International Stadium for the Iraq-Oman match

Today, Saturday, the Director General of the Department of Regional and Provincial Affairs, Ahmed Saad Aliwi, and the Director General of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Hussam Hassan, inspected Basra International Stadium to see the latest preparations for hosting the match between our national team and its Omani counterpart, as part of the decisive qualifiers for the World Cup in football.

A brief statement by the Ministry of Youth and Sports received by the (INA) stated that “the ministry’s delegation held two important meetings, one with the implementing company, and the other with representatives of the Basra Police Command, in the presence of the Director of the Sports City, Lotfi Al-Jazaery, and the President of the Basra Football Sub-Federation, Badr Nasser, to put the final touches on the final preparations for the anticipated match, scheduled to be held on the evening of next Thursday, corresponding to the fifth of September.”
For his part, the Director General of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Hussam Hassan, said in a statement to the Iraqi Sports Channel, which was followed by the : “Work on the Basra Stadium is in full swing, and we have reached the final touches to complete the Sports City Stadium to host the anticipated match between Iraq and the Sultanate of Oman national team.”
He added, “The committee formed by Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, with the follow-up of the Minister of Youth and Sports, came to Basra and held two meetings (technical and administrative) in which all aspects were discussed, most of which were addressed in the previous meeting, with the aim of reaching the completion of all the deficiencies in the stadium.”
He said, “There will be a rehearsal on September 3rd and 4th to operate the stadium and fully prepare for hosting this match.”
