Thrissur: A youth was arrested for creating an atmosphere of terror by swinging a sword on the eastern side of the Guruvayur temple yesterday evening. Rahul, a native of Guruvayur, was arrested by the Guruvayur Temple Police. He threw his sword after an argument with a shopkeeper in Kizhakkenada. The young man was swinging his sword while the devotees who had come to the temple were watching. According to the police, the youth brandished a sword following a dispute over halwa trade. After his arrest, Rahul was released on bail. Police have registered a case against the shop owner who had a dispute with Rahul.


Guruvayoorappan’s Thar is now for Vignesh Vijayakumar

Guruvayur: Vignesh Vijayakumar, an expatriate businessman from Angadipuram, won the Thar Vashi auction in Guruvayur for Rs 43 lakh. Vignesh Thar acquired it for his father and mother. Vignesh’s representative Anoop, who participated in the auction, said that he was told to buy Thar for any amount.

Thar, which started at a base price of Rs 15 lakh, was auctioned for Rs 43 lakh. Vignesh Vijayakumar, a resident of Angadipuram, Malappuram, who specializes in hospitality management, real estate, public relations and trading in Dubai, auctioned the vehicle to his parents at the re – auction. His father Vijayakumar and general manager Anoop participated in the auction for Vignesh.

The auction started at 11 am at the South Nada Panthal in the presence of Devaswom Administrator KP Vinayan. Fifteen people, including Amal, who had earlier bid, were eligible to participate in the auction. When Amal did not arrive, there were fourteen. The last lap was attended by three people with Vashi

Vignesh’s representative called for Rs 43 lakh and the others withdrew. 4 tenders were received but less than the bid amount. Vignesh has to pay statutory GST along with Rs 43 lakh. The next day you have to pay half of the auction price. The balance amount is to be paid within 3 days of receipt of the notice after the approval of the Board. Devaswom said the vehicle will be handed over once the board approves the auction. Amal, an expatriate businessman, was the only bidder for Thor’s first auction in Guruvayur last December.
