Kollam: Brutally assaulted youth again in Kollam district. Achu, a native of Alappuzha Vallikinnam, was beaten up in Karunagappally. The attack was allegedly insulted through social media. The incident came to light after the footage went viral.
In the footage, we can see Achu apologizing and another young man being beaten. Police identified him as Rahul, a resident of Puyapalli, Kollam and arrested him. The incident in question was on August 1.
Achu was called by the youth saying that he had to deliver a courier. Then he fell on his feet and begged for forgiveness and after this he was brutally beaten. The incident took place in an uninhabited area near Karunagappally.
Rahul’s response was that Achu had said obscenities through WhatsApp and this was questioned. The beating scenes were captured by other youths in the group. After this, Rahul himself circulated the footage. Finally, after the viral footage came to the attention of Kollam Police’s social media wing, the accused was arrested.
According to the police, Rahul, who was arrested in the incident, is involved in around 15 cases. The police stated that Rahul was accused in the cases of rape and attempted murder.
