The district level youth athletics competition is going to be held on October 2nd in Dharmapuri.
In this regard, a press release issued by Dharmapuri District Athletics Association Secretary K. Arivu said:
On behalf of the Dharmapuri District Athletic Association, district level youth athletics competitions are going to be held at the Dharmapuri District Sports Hall on October 2nd. Competitions for both sexes will be held in 3 categories starting at 9 am on that day.
100, 200, 400, 800, 1500 meters race, long jump, shot put and javelin for boys under 18 and 20 years, 100, 300, 800 meters race, long jump for boys and girls under 16 years. Shot put and javelin will be held.
All contestants should register between 7.30 AM to 9 AM. A contestant is allowed to compete in only 2 matches. Candidates coming to participate in the competition should bring copy of birth certificate. Certificates will be given to the players who participate in these competitions and win.
Also, the students who stand in the best positions will be taken to the state level athletics competition held in Tiruvannamalai from 13th to 16th October. Therefore, students from Dharmapuri district are requested to participate in the district level youth athletics competitions, he said.
