A first setback from the start for the Titis. Opposed to Borussia Dortmund this Tuesday, for their first match of the season in the Youth League, Zoumana Camara’s youngsters missed the boat. There was still room, but a sumptuous goal after half an hour of play was enough to bring happiness to the Germans who forced Paris to react from the next meeting, Wednesday October 4 in Newcastle.
The match: there was much better to do
Despite the difficult terrain, the Parisians started rather well. Sangaré was the first to shine, well served in space by Bensoula, but his cross shot did not hit the target (13th). Gadou, after a good breakthrough, missed the boat in turn with a deflected shot just above (18th). Once the storm passed, the Borussen gained momentum and opened the scoring with Rijkhoff with a superb sequence outside the area. The Parisian goalkeeper, Laurendon, could have done better (0-1, 31st). He made up for it five minutes later by winning his duel with the same player (36th). Not enough to wake up his troops.
Overall, the Titis lacked composure in the last 30 meters, a lack of efficiency which was felt again upon returning from the locker room. Ethan Mbappé tried to sound the revolt, by tearing himself away to serve Sangaré, but the defector from Montrouge missed another face to face (65th). The last situation fell to Nhaga, whose header from a corner was brilliantly repelled by Dortmund goalkeeper Lisewski (86th). Enough to feed regrets in view of the opponent, largely takeable and timid once put under pressure. And as if the defeat was not enough, the Parisians will not be able to count on Nhaga at Newcastle next month, the Portuguese having been excluded at the end of the game.

Back in his category after a first bench in Ligue 1, Friday evening, Kylian Mbappé’s little brother was lined up in front of the defense. Interesting at the start with several high recoveries, he slowed down like the rest of the team after twenty minutes before signing a more convincing second half. It is he who is at the origin of a big situation, at the hour mark, when he finds Sangaré after having resisted four opponents on a 35-meter race forward (65th). Replaced by Michut in the 80th, he was active but was not able to sufficiently improve the good balls he recovered.

Among the 11 players lined up by Zoumana Camara at kick-off, 7 had never played a Youth League match. Indeed, only Yoram Zague (6 matches), Ethan Mbappé (6), Kamil Bensoula (2) and Joane Gadou (1) had experience in this competition before the meeting.
