In Madurai, a special program of the Golden Jubilee of the World Thirukkural Council was held last evening. Kunrakkudi Atheenam Ponnambala Adikalar led and performed Arudperur. Minister P.D.R. Palanivel Thiagarajan delivered the keynote speech. Padma Shri Tamil scholar Salomon Papaiah delivered the eulogy. The event was attended by Mayor Indrani Pon Vasanth, Chairman Karthikeyan Manimozhiyan and others. Similarly, prizes were awarded to the students who won the essay and speech competitions held on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee year. Later the book ‘A Basket of Faith’ was published. Thirukkural is not an old man’s tent, not a pastime for the dead. The elixir that goes all the way to the path of humanizing the young generation. So the youth should be attached to Thirukkural. Everyone should learn the good ideas in Thirukkural. Thirukkural means faith. This is not the sign of God. Thirukkural is also a symbol of religious harmony.
He said that all the people should know the great glory of Thirukkural for humanity to grow, equality and society to flourish. All district administrators of the World Thirukkural Assembly, members of the assembly and many Thirukkural enthusiasts participated in this program.
