Youth survey in UAE to learn about climate change

ABU DHABI: The UAE is conducting the largest youth survey on climate change. Environment Agency Abu Dhabi (EAD) announced that the survey will be conducted among 10,000 people aged 15-29 across 7 emirates.

The aim is to capture the views of young people on climate change impacts. EAD Secretary General Dr. Dr. EAD Secretary General said that the youth are the future and it is the future generation that will face the consequences of climate change, food insecurity, loss of biodiversity and environmental threats. Sheikh Salim Al Dahiri said.

Youth skills and perspectives will be harnessed for problem solving. Maximum comments will be collected before next year’s climate change summit in Egypt. The aim is to propose practical solutions to the greatest challenges facing humanity.

The survey will measure the youth’s personal attitude towards the environment, responsibility, conservation, environmental stewardship and sustainability. And anyone about the impact of the single-use plastic ban.

The project will be implemented with the cooperation of educational institutions such as schools and colleges. The survey results will be published in November.
