Four more people have been arrested in connection with the death of a youth named Vignesh in police custody in Chennai. Six people have been arrested so far in the case.
The CBCID has arrested four more persons in connection with the incident in which a youth named Vignesh was abducted by the police in Chennai and later died in police custody on suspicion.
Four persons have been arrested today, namely Deepak of the Home Guard, Chief Constable Kumar and two constables of the Armed Police Force.
The Central Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is investigating the death of Vignesh, a youth from Chennai, in police custody. The guards involved had earlier been sacked.
Severe injury in 13 places
A few days before this situation, the report of the anatomical examination of Vignesh’s body was published in the media. It was recorded that he had serious injuries in 13 places on his body.
Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K. raised the issue in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly. Palanisamy raised. He pointed out that there was a huge suspicion of Vignesh’s death and that there were injuries in 13 places on his body.
Responding to this, the Chief Minister M.K. Stalin said the CPCID had been ordered to register a murder case against the guards involved as it was found that there were injuries in 13 places on the body of the slain youth.
After that, Munaf, the secretary of the concerned police station, and Paunraj, the first-level constable, were arrested yesterday. Four more people are currently being held in connection with the case.

On April 18, Vignesh and Suresh, who were traveling in an auto in the suburbs of Chennai, were diverted by the police and taken to the HQ police station.
Vignesh later died in police custody. In the incident, Vignesh’s family was also accused of being severely intimidated.
It was announced on April 21 that the CID would investigate the matter. However, there were allegations of gross human rights abuses in the case.
In this context, the Coalition Against Police Torture met with reporters in Chennai and released the ballot papers provided by Vignesh’s relatives and those involved in the incident.
In this case, the autopsy report of the deceased Vignesh was released to the media. The autopsy report stated that the victim suffered head injuries, upper left eye injury, swelling in the left eye, swelling, severe injury to the front and back of the right hand, swelling in the left shoulder, and severe skin peeling on the back.
Apart from this, there was a large amount of swelling in the right thigh. An X-ray revealed a broken bone. The autopsy report showed severe swelling in the left leg and swelling and redness of the skin.
