jpnn.com – AMBON – Chairman of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Ambon City DPD Yusuf Wally indicated that he would run as a candidate for deputy mayor of Ambon in the upcoming 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections.
“This is based on experience as a member of the Ambon City Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD) for two periods, namely 2014-2024,” said Yusuf in a statement received in Ambon, Thursday (17/4).
Wally stated that currently his priority is to complete the remainder of his term in the Ambon City DPRD.
Nevertheless, he welcomes the possibility of becoming a candidate for deputy mayor if there is support from the community, figures and the party.
“In the meantime, I will focus on carrying out my current duties, but I remain open to political directions that might occur in the future,” he said.
According to him, his experience as a legislative candidate at the provincial level in the Ambon City electoral district has been an important lesson regarding political dynamics, especially considering the political changes that may occur in 2024.
During his time as a member of the Ambon City DPRD, Yusuf Wally actively fought for the rights of traders in the Mardika market in Ambon City.
Meanwhile, the election for Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Ambon will be held on November 27 2024.
