Last night (Sunday) yes held a launch event for the second season of the successful series: “The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem”. The actress Yuval Sharaf shared her opinion on the situation in the country and the reactions she receives from women recently that sadden her.

Tell us about the character you play
“Rochel is going to go through a pretty serious transformation this season. If in the previous season we were in love and in the past, now we are in the present and dealing with the challenging life. This is a character that I am really in awe of.”
This is a period series, would you like to live in such a world without smartphones?
“Technology has incredible advantages, we need to know how to take care of ourselves. I would like to stay in our time but take everything responsibly and in proportion so that it does not harm the soul”
What is it like to launch the series in a rather complex period in the State of Israel?
“We continue to create and do our work and this is our Holy Spirit. This is what connects and can bridge all the painful and violent and sad and scary gap that has opened between us. I simply hope that we will open our eyes and be able to bring light into this terrible darkness.”
Do you get comments from women?
“Yes, thank God, I receive comments. I also receive comments from women who surprise me. I am in favor of fighting for democracy. Many women write other very surprising things.”
How is it as a woman to receive such reactions?
“sad”.
