He was sentenced to 6 months in prison with suspended probation. This conviction is accompanied by an obligation to provide care and to find work.

In his shirt with summer patterns, Cédric B. struggled to find his words in front of the judge. “I did something stupid, I was under (the effect of) alcohol and I regret my gesture”. Without any difficulty, he acknowledges being the author of the two messages sent to the Prime Minister this Wednesday, June 26, 2023, via the contact form on the Matignon website. A first at 3:16 p.m.: “Go fuck yourself… (sic), we yellow vests, we’re going to fuck your race”; then a second, longer one, at 3:56 p.m., where he promises the politician that he “will burn her in a trash can. »

“It’s time to solve my problems with alcohol”

At the bar, the defendant was not very talkative. However, he assures us that he will not do it again. “But he already made this promise in March”, recalls the public prosecutor. Last year, Cédric B. had indeed made death threats against his former employer, the manager of a clothing store who had been wrong to … fire him. He had promised that he would not be caught again. He had been sentenced to a thirty-day fine.

Followed for three years by a psychologist and a psychiatrist, the defendant recognizes in the courtroom to be the subject of an intellectual disability. “He is out of family, doesn’t work and didn’t really have any friends. He was locked in a virtual world where he felt accepted,” the defense pleaded. On his Facebook account, the police have indeed found insulting comments towards other members of the government, such as former minister Marlène Schiappa or even President Emmanuel Macron. In his phone, investigators also found videos of him during the recent riots where he was hooded and called “to kill the police.” »

Timidly, Cédric B. says he became aware of the problems to be solved: “I think it’s time for me to have a social life, to work and to solve my problems with alcohol. His next goal: to train as a stretcher-bearer to reintegrate.
