Has a step too far been taken in the attacks targeting the teaching profession? This is what the events which took place this Tuesday, December 19, around 5 p.m., in a classroom at the Léonard-de-Vinci college in Ecquevilly (Yvelines) suggest. A 3rd grade student may have tried to poison one of his teachers with a detergent.

The scene broke out in the middle of class as the class was invited to share a snack to celebrate the end of the year. The student offers his plastic arts teacher a glass of a sweet drink mixed with a liquid similar to detergent.

From the first sip, the person concerned feels bad. She was quickly taken care of by the emergency services who decided to transport her to the Meulan hospital, barely ten kilometers away, for extensive examinations. Her prognosis is ultimately uncertain but the professor suffers from irritation and says, above all, that she is psychologically shocked.

A dispute earlier today

She suspects that a student, with whom she had an altercation during the same day on Tuesday, is at the origin of the facts. An investigation has been opened, as confirmed to us by the Versailles prosecutor’s office this Wednesday evening.

According to our information, the plastic arts teacher was still hospitalized this Wednesday afternoon, which has not yet allowed her to file a complaint. “We received this report and the investigation is only just beginning,” specifies a source close to the matter. The cleaning products and detergent had certainly been left in this classroom, but it is quite detestable that such an action could have been done there and against a teacher. »

The victim’s colleagues have exercised their right to withdraw and classes are no longer offered in this college which accommodates nearly 500 students. Ecquevilly is a town of 4,200 inhabitants known for being quiet, which overlooks the A13 motorway.

The high school student who threatened to kill his teacher will be tried at the end of February

The facts come a few days after death threats against a mathematics teacher made by a high school student from Chesnay-Rocquencourt, still in Yvelines. A 17-year-old young man, who went viral on Instagram announcing his intentions in English – “I swear to God that if I see this fagot outside of school, I will attack him and beat him to death” -, was arrested Sunday morning at his home.

At the end of his 48-hour police custody in Versailles, the final year school student was presented to a children’s judge and then released this Tuesday. Placed under judicial supervision, and subject to a ban on approaching his private high school Blanche-de-Castille, he will have to answer for his actions before a juvenile court during the hearing scheduled for February 29.
