Yvelines: Versailles hospital victim of a cyberattack, Jean-Noël Barrot on the spot

by time news

It is far from being the first health establishment concerned. According to information from France Info confirmed by Le Parisien, the André Mignot hospital in the Versailles hospital center, located in Chesnay-Rocquencourt (Yvelines), has been the victim of a cyberattack since early Saturday evening.

According to the news channel’s account, part of the screens in the hospital went black, around 9 p.m. The entire hospital center – and not just the André Mignot hospital – is targeted by the cyberattack.

Invited on BFMTV this Sunday morning, François Braun, the Minister of Health, explained that the attack had “been detected early” and that the hospital was placed “in crisis mode”, the computer system having been cut in order to facilitate the protection of its data. The reception of patients is “limited”, explained the hospital for its part, specifying that an open crisis unit.

“The Samu is not affected. It redirects patients to other services, the time that we can make a more precise diagnosis”, he specified, adding that there was “no immediate impact” nor “transfer considered” for the time being, even if “the Samu has been put in working order” in order to react if necessary.

Jean-Noël Barrot on site

Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister Delegate for the Digital Transition and Telecommunications, is on site to take stock of the situation. On Twitter, he denounced the “criminals who attack the most fragile”. The attack has already been claimed, according to France Info. For his part, François Braun affirmed that there were “no elements on those which could (in) be at the origin”.

In addition to bringing together all the short-stay and outpatient services, the André Mignot hospital is also the administrative, technical and logistical headquarters of the Center Hospitalier de Versailles.

On August 22, the South Ile-de-France Hospital Center (CHSF) in Corbeil-Essonnes, which provides health coverage for nearly 700,000 inhabitants of the greater Parisian suburbs, was also the target of a cyberattack which seriously disrupted its operation for several weeks. The attack was followed by a ransom demand and a September 23 ultimatum to pay. After this period, they had disseminated on the “dark web” a series of confidential data concerning patients, staff or partners of the establishment.
