Z. Konstantopoulou sued the president of the Court in Volos: “You behave like a judge who takes orders from Beo” – The Press Project

Tension was noted today in the courts of Volos on the occasion of the trial of Thomas Klimopoulos and No. Frangoudakis, following a lawsuit by city councilors of the Beu faction, for causing incidents at a meeting of the Volos Municipal Council in 2017. The information indicates that the president of the seat gave only two minutes to the lawyer to file her statement, which emphasized that the judge caused tension earlier, resulting in the man suffering from hypertension. “He claimed his rights and you intentionally caused him harm. You targeted defendants for the umpteenth time. You are the mayor’s court,” he said, accusing the judge of holding the defendants in contempt and acting like she was taking orders from the mayor, while asking for her recusal.

Zoi Konstantopoulou’s appearance today in the courts of Volos on the occasion of the trial of Thomas Klimopoulos and Aristides Fragoudakis, after a lawsuit by municipal councilors of the Beu faction, for causing incidents at a meeting of the Municipal Council of Volos in 2017, was episodic.

After the trial was adjourned for a few hours, Zoi Konstantopoulou, the defense attorney for the defendants, announced to the court that one of the defendants, Mr. Fragoudakis, felt unwell due to high blood pressure and was taken to the Hospital.

This was followed by an intense dialogue between Mrs. Konstantopoulou and the President of the Court, because she was given only two minutes to file her statement. The president of Plevsis Eleftherias accused the president of the Court that she earlier caused extreme tension, as a result of which Aristidis Frangoudakis was taken to the hospital. “He asserted his rights and you intentionally caused him harm. You targeted defendants for the umpteenth time. You are the mayor’s court,” she said and submitted a written request asking to know why 5 witnesses were examined without her being present.

“You are behaving like a judge who receives orders from Achillea Beo and despises the accused”, said Zoe Konstantopoulou addressing the president of the Court and requested that the trial be suspended so that Mr. Frangoudakis’ health condition could be determined. He also called on the president to declare her relationship with Vassilis Zaheila who beat up a municipal councilor of LAS and asked him to stay away from the court because, as he said, he has a bias in favor of Achillea Beu. “You are extremely subservient to the municipal authority,” emphasized Mrs. Konstantopoulou, always addressing the president of the seat.

In the meantime, a request to stop due to a health disorder of Aristides Frangoudakis was rejected, just as the request to re-examine the five witnesses was also rejected.

This was followed by the explosion of the district attorney against Zoe Konstantopoulou for the president’s request to abstain, with Mrs. Konstantopoulou stating that she will file a lawsuit against the president of the district before the prosecutor and the police authority, because she violates her duty and diverts procedural orders to defend. In this context, a 10-minute adjournment was requested for the submission of the lawsuit.

“Today is World Earth Day. And I am here to defend people who defend the environment and water in Thessaly, which is also legislated, and fight against a municipal authority that implements fascist and thuggish practices. It is sad at a time when citizens all over Greece are raising concerns about the way justice works, that there are judicial officials in Volos who, instead of respecting the rights of the accused, are busy giving judicial and prosecutorial credentials to the municipal authority. No court is allowed to operate under the fear of the municipal authority,” Zoe Konstantopoulou told reporters.

With the resumption of the trial, the president of the seat asked to be informed by the Complaints Department if a lawsuit was filed against her, and Mrs. Konstantopoulou stated that the president is ridiculing the process. Mrs. Konstantopoulou submitted a request for the president’s exemption. He also accused her of calling the police. Also, Zoe Konstantopoulou filed a request for the exemption of the district attorney and stated that she does not recognize the president as a judge. A new interruption of the episodic trial followed.
