Pokémon Legends: ZA Update 1.0.2 Now Live, Addresses Critical Bugs
A new patch for Pokémon Legends: ZA is now available for download on both the Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch. Update 1.0.2, dubbed “The Fates,” is a mandatory installation for players wishing to access online features and resolves several key issues impacting gameplay. The update was released in response to player reports of progression-blocking bugs and reward inconsistencies following the game’s launch.
The update addresses a frustrating bug where players’ storage boxes would become inexplicably full before their first encounter with a Pokémon undergoing an uncontrolled mega evolution. This prevented players from capturing new Pokémon, effectively halting progression in certain scenarios. A similar issue affecting secondary missions – specifically those requiring Pokémon captures – has also been resolved, restoring the ability to add to one’s collection. The developers identified the root cause as a memory leak related to the mega evolution animation sequences.
Beyond these critical fixes, the patch also tackles several smaller, yet impactful, problems. Players will no longer encounter issues with movement commands during the transition between day and night cycles. A bug that prevented newly switched-in Pokémon from appearing in battle when a player and opponent simultaneously attempted a mega evolution has also been corrected. This issue stemmed from a conflict in the battle engine’s processing of simultaneous actions.
Moreover, the update includes adjustments to the rewards system for Qualifying Bouts, ensuring players consistently earn and retain their hard-earned points. “The patch readjusts the rewards of the Qualifying Bouts and the points earned, ensuring that points are never lost,” a company release stated. The reward system was recalibrated to provide a more consistent and predictable experiance for players participating in these competitive challenges. Minor, unspecified issues have also been addressed to improve overall stability.
This update represents a notable step towards refining the Pokémon Legends: ZA experience, addressing player concerns and ensuring a smoother, more enjoyable adventure for all trainers. The developers have indicated that further updates are planned, promising continued support for the game in the future.
