His father, Jean-Claude Deret, was the scriptwriter of Thierry La Fronde at the time of the ORTF. Actress and director, Zabou Breitman has always been interested in series. “Me, I like SF and fantasy”she says.

About The Scarlet Maid
Zabou Breitman’s favorite series: The Scarlet Maidin English Handmaid’s tale. It is the adaptation of a scary science fiction novel by Margaret Atwood. In the near future, a Protestant politico-religious sect takes power in the United States and establishes a dictatorship in which men rule and women serve only to procreate.
Elisabeth Moss embodies a young woman cut off from her child and her husband, and who tries to emancipate herself from this dictatorship. The Scarlet Handmaiden is a dark series in five seasons, as of 2023 it is still in production.
