A day before the deadline for registering parties and coalitions for the parliamentary vote on October 27 expired, the legal saga in the BSP ended in favor of the interim chairman Atanas Zafirov.

The Sofia City Court entered the changes in the BSP representation in the Register of Political Parties and Kornelia Ninova was finally deleted. With this act, the party is now represented by Zafirov, who is a.f. chairman of the BSP until the direct election of a leader. It was postponed due to early elections on October 27 and will be held in November at the earliest.

Shortly after the court reflected the change in the leadership of the BSP, Zafirov and Maya Manolova withdrew the application submitted a day earlier by Georgi Svilenski and Ivan Chenchev to register the BSP for the vote.

An hour later, Zafirov, the other deputy heads of the party and dozens of representatives of the 20 coalition partners appeared together at the CEC to register the “BSP – United Left” coalition. Zafirov thanked the coalition partners who waited until the last moment for the resolution of the leadership drama. And he announced that the issue of places in the lists had not yet been taken up, but he promised that everyone would get decent representation. But he did not say how many MPs the minimum was set as a goal. An excellent result would be the one that makes it possible for them to be “the social guarantor in the next parliament, and why not in the next government of the country”.

On the penultimate day of registration in the CEC, documents were also submitted by PP-DB. Kiril Petkov announced that they are united and focus on the future.

Viktoria Vasileva’s new formation “Ima sëssë” is also registered for the elections. Together with her, among the former deputies of “Velichie” in this parliament are the musician Etienne Levy and the ranger Darin Georgiev. They use the registration of the Bulgarian Social Democratic Party and “Be Courageous”.
