Many activists of the Ahim LeSmel association, of Maccabi Tel Aviv fans, came today (Friday) to the event of packaging the food parcels in honor of Rosh Hashanah after this year’s donation collection operation yielded an all-time record with over half a million NIS donated.
The Maccabi Tel Aviv players also came to the package packing event, which thanks to the many donations will be more than 2,200 of them, right after the final training session for the match against Beitar Jerusalem. The one who was received with loud cheers was of course Eran Zahavi, following the storm of not being called up to the Israeli national team that began Yesterday, the star appeared with his entire family who came to help with the packing.
The event was in collaboration with the Maccabi Tel Aviv Foundation and this year’s fundraising was dedicated to the memory of the late Khalil Kimchi, a fan of the team who was killed in the pool disaster. Besides Zahavi, Dan Glazer, Dor Peretz, Gabi Kanikovski, Daniel Peretz, Eyal Golsa and Maor Kandil also came to Bloomfield Stadium.
In Maccabi Tel Aviv, they praised the Ahim LeSmel association and the many fans for mobilizing to pack the packages and of course also for collecting the donations that resulted in raising an unprecedented amount of money, and this from an association whose members are all volunteers and do activities for the community throughout the year.

The state champion in volleyball also participated in the activity of the Brothers for the Symbol of the Day association. The Maccabi Tel Aviv players helped with the packaging of the products together with their colleagues from the soccer team and heard about the late Khalil Kimchi.
