Poetess, pianist and actress Zahra Badalbeyli has been elected as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors (BC) of the Children’s Fund of Azerbaijan, the press service of the fund told Day.Az.
“First Deputy Chairman Zahra Badalbeyli has been officially approved to replace Arif Huseynov. This change is aimed at further strengthening the future strategy and areas of activity of the fund. The Azerbaijan Children’s Fund is one of the most significant organizations in the country working in the field of protecting children’s rights and their well-being. The goal of the fund is charity, protecting children’s rights and ensuring their well-being. Zahra Badalbeyli has extensive experience in the field of charity and social affairs, and she will continue to implement the fund’s new strategies and projects in this position,” the fund said in a statement.
Zahra Badalbeyli is a graduate of the Baku Music Academy named after Uzeyir Hajibeyli. She is actively involved in public work. Badalbeyli is the author of the lyrics to Azerbaijan’s first Eurovision song, Day After Day.
Since 2008, she has worked in the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and since 2011, she has been the editor-in-chief of the international magazine “OK!” in Azerbaijan. She is a member of the Writers’ Union of Azerbaijan and the author of two collections of poems.
In 2020, Zahra Badalbeyli became one of the organizers of the “Dəstək Ol” charity movement. Since 2022, she has been elected as the first deputy chairperson of the Azerbaijan Children’s Fund. In addition, she is a co-founder and head of the GAMMA Group MMC company, which has implemented several charity projects.

I am grateful to the Management Board, the Board of Trustees and our Chairman for their high appreciation of my work as the First Deputy. With a deep sense of responsibility, I begin to continue the work begun under the wise leadership of our Honorary Chairman Arif Huseynov. Remaining true to the goals of the Children’s Fund of Azerbaijan, I will mobilize all my strength to advance the protection of the rights and well-being of our children,” said Zahra Badalbeyli.
It should be noted that the Children’s Fund of Azerbaijan has been operating since 1988 and has implemented many significant projects during this time. The Fund has achieved great success in protecting children’s rights, expanding their educational opportunities and ensuring their well-being. As part of its charitable activities, support has been provided to many orphanages, schools and other social institutions.
