The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova commented on the statements of Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo regarding Russian and Belarusian athletes at the Olympic Games in 2024, warning that French goods may not be welcome in the Russian Federation, Day.Az reports with reference to TASS.
As Le Monde newspaper previously reported, Hidalgo said during her trip to Kyiv that Russian and Belarusian athletes “will not be welcome in Paris.”
“What do you think, maybe we should pick up some French products that are now widely represented in Russia and say that they won’t be happy with them?” – she wrote in the Telegram channel. “For now, French goods are not marked with stickers saying ‘we are not welcome in Moscow,’ but I know that our activists cannot be stopped if they make such a decision.”
According to Zakharova, one more such statement, and “representatives of French business will storm the Paris City Hall – following the farmers.” “We have a huge selection of what can replace a number of French goods,” the diplomat noted.
