/ Zakho Club President Ammar Farhad threatened the Football Association, on Tuesday, to resort to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and assign one of the important Qatari lawyers to take up the case in the event that the loss of the police is cancelled, indicating that his club respects the regulations and laws and is seeking its sporting right.

Farhad said in an interview with Agency, “We were surprised by the union’s issuance of the teams’ standings after the end of the 11th round of the union, and three points were not deducted from the police and added to Zakho according to its latest decision, which was confirmed in an official letter.”

He added, “The right must be upheld, and if we are wronged and the federation retracts its decision to consider Al-Shorta a loser in front of us for violating the regulations of the Iraqi Premier League, and the federation insists on that, we will resort to international courts, especially the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), and assign one of the important Qatari lawyers to take up the case in the event that Al-Shorta’s loss is cancelled.”

He stated that “Zakho Club respects all decisions even if they are against it,” noting that “our club follows instructions and we respect the rights of others and do not violate regulations and accept all decisions issued by the Federation.”

Zakho club objected to Al-Shorta club because of the professional players who represented the Green Guitar, as the Iraqi Premier League regulations stipulate that the registration of foreign professional players should be 4 players under the international classification of national teams from the sequence 90 and below, and two players from the sequence 91 and above, while the Yemeni player is registered as a citizen player, provided that the number of players does not exceed one player in each club, but the Al-Shorta team fielded three players above the classification 90, and this is a clear violation of the regulations that were set by the Iraqi Federation.

The Disciplinary Committee of the Iraqi Football Association considered the Police Club as having lost to Zakho 0-3 after having won 2-1 in its match on the 8th of this month in a match that took place at Al-Najaf Stadium, due to its violation of the Federation’s regulations for the Iraqi Premier League, and fined the Police 15 million dinars, and suspended the team supervisor for two months.
