Zakir Ahmed Khan took over as PKSF chairman

Former Finance Secretary Zakir Ahmed Khan has taken over as the eighth chairman of Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF).

Zakir Ahmed Khan met senior officials of PKSF in an exchange meeting after assuming charge. At that time he was informed about the activities of PKSF.

The notification of his appointment was issued by the Financial Institutions Department of the Ministry of Finance on August 28. He will serve as the chairman of PKSF for the next three years.

Before joining the Pakistan Audit and Accounts Service in 1970, Zakir Ahmed Khan worked as a Research Associate in the Bureau of Economic Research and as a Lecturer in the Department of Economics, University of Dhaka. He also served as a part-time lecturer in the finance department of Dhaka University.

Former Finance Secretary Zakir Ahmed Khan served as the World Bank’s Alternate Executive Director for Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Sri Lanka. He also served as Finance Secretary, Secretary of the Department of Internal Resources, and Chairman of the National Board of Revenue.

During his service, Zakir Ahmed Khan held various senior positions in Bangladesh Audit and Accounts Department, Ministry of Establishment, Finance and Commerce, Cabinet Department, Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, and Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism.

Deputy Managing Director AQM Golam Mawla, Md. Moshiar Rahman, Dr. Fazle Rabbi Chadek Ahmad, Muhammad Hasan Khaled and Dr. Akand Md. Senior officials including Rafiqul Islam.
