Delhi: Controversial Islamic preacher Zakir Naik said that wishing Christmas and participating in celebrations is un-Islamic when the world is about to celebrate Christmas.
Zakir Naik said in the post that it is un-Islamic to participate in the celebrations of non-Muslims, wish them well and accept gifts. Zakir Naik’s controversial statement is through a Facebook post. But Zakir Naik removed this post from Facebook after it was mostly Christmas greetings.
‘It is not permissible in Islam to imitate the celebrations of non-Muslims in any way. Food, clothing, lighting, and anything that alters the normal ritual of worship are not permitted. Giving feasts, giving or receiving gifts as part of the celebrations is not allowed’ – Zakir Naik said in a Facebook post. But last night the post disappeared.
Many people criticized the post. Zakir Naik’s post was shared and the social media reacted to this post by wishing him a Merry Christmas.
The comments are that it is part of our culture to wish for the celebrations of other religions. Many people including Malayalees came out criticizing Zakir Naik’s post. After this, the post disappeared.
