Zakynthos: Active fire front towards the village of Koiliomenos

An active fire front is burning a forest area from the village of Agia Marina to the village of Koiliomenos, in Zakynthos.

There is a huge force of the Fire Service on the scene and more detailed in the area between the villages, there are 66 firefighters, 21 vehicles, three groups of infantry sections, one group of infantry sections of the 6th EMODE with four vehicles operating in the area between the villages , with five firefighting aircraft and a helicopter operating from the air.

Project machinery and OTA water carriers also provide important assistance in extinguishment. At this moment, two crawlers of Zakynthos Province are creating fire zones around the village of Koiliomenos.

Also, machinery from the Municipality of Zakynthos opened forest roads between the villages of Koiliomenos and Agia Marina.
