The newly formed “Žalgiris” team will appear on the court for the first time on September 4, Wednesday, when they will meet Utena’s “Uniclub Casino – Juventus” club in Kaunas. All subscribers of “Žalgiris Insider” will be able to watch the match live.
On Sunday, September 8, Žalgiris players will play another match in Kaunas and test their strength against Baku “Sabah” team from Azerbaijan coached by Rim Kurtinaitis. “Žalgiris Insider” will also broadcast this match live.
On September 9, Kaunas will fly to Turkey, where after a break of several seasons, they will again participate in the pre-season “Gloria Cup” tournament. “Žalgiris” will spend a week in Turkey and will play three matches there against the basketball players of “Tofas” of Bursa, ALBA of Berlin and “Anadolu Efes” of Istanbul.
Preparation for 2024-2025 “Žalgiris” will start the season on August 21, when they will hold the first training session. Before that, the team’s new recruits will undergo a medical and physical examination.
On October 3rd, the Žalgiris team will open the season with home matches – the Žalgiris Arena will host a match against FC Barcelona that will raise the curtain on the start of the Euroleague season.
