Vicente’s body showed signs of violence. This crime has shocked Juchitecan society and also the cultural community; they demanded justice for Rosty from the authorities.

Members of the cultural association regretted the murder.

Following the unfortunate incident, family members and members of the media expressed their condolences for the murder of the young rapper.

“Your life was taken from you before you could witness your documentary being made.”

“A hug from heaven, brother, those conversations, those greetings and your constant appreciation of the Zapotec culture, of your Juchitán, so dear to you. My condolences to the family.”

“Hip hop from the cradle to the grave.”

Poet and writer Natalia Toledo said that rapper ‘Rosty Bazandu’ promoted the revaluation of Zapotec more than any official.

“Rosty helped more than anyone, more than any government, official, secretariat or institute, to revalue Zapotec and to feel pride for the language that was previously disdained. In the sections where only Spanish was spoken and the speaker of the language was disdained, another feeling exists: “Now the tables have turned, now they hate their parents because they were not taught Zapotec,” said Toledo.

“The king of Zapotec rap has passed away. Those who knew him know the joy and pride of being Vicente Ramírez’s friend. To me, he was like a brother. Let us not forget his lyrics and his convictions. You will always live in our hearts,” wrote Mario Bazendu on Facebook.
