Zeekr Introduces World’s Fastest Mass-Produced Car: The Zeekr 001 FR
Zeekr, an electric vehicle manufacturer, has recently unveiled its latest creation – the Zeekr 001 FR. The 001 FR, where FR stands for Future Road, is an all-wheel-drive sports car powered by four electric motors, generating a mind-boggling 1,247 horsepower and boasting a top speed of 280 km/h. The company proudly claims that the Zeekr 001 FR is the fastest mass-produced car in the world.
One of the most impressive features of the 001 FR is its exceptional acceleration. The car can go from 0 to 100 km/h in a mere 2.07 seconds, thanks to its four motors. Furthermore, the innovative design allows for a unique ability called Tank turn, where the car can change its direction freely without moving forward or backward. During this maneuver, the wheels experience a maximum torque of up to 10,000 Newton-meters.
Notably, the power distribution among the four motors is not uniform – the front motors provide 155 kW of power, while the rear motors deliver a whopping 310 kW. Additionally, the car exhibits an impressive power density of 4.4W/Kg.
The Zeekr 001 FR is built on an 800V platform and features a 100 kWh Qilin battery from CATL. This enables the vehicle to be charged from 10% to 80% in just 15 minutes, allowing for quick and convenient charging.
Inside the car, owners will find a range of high-tech features, including a satellite phone and a built-in navigation system. The control panel is equipped with a large 15.4-inch display, accompanied by an 8.8-inch dashboard, all running on Zeekr OS 5.0 software.
In addition to the car’s impressive hardware, Zeekr aims to challenge Tesla in terms of software as well. The 001 FR comes with NZP (Navigation Zeekr Pilot), a driver-assistance software primarily designed for highway driving. This puts Zeekr in direct competition with Tesla’s Autopilot system.
It’s worth noting that Zeekr has gathered valuable feedback and data on their software. Since its release, thousands of users have driven a combined total of 1.58 million kilometers, with testing time exceeding 47,000 hours.
Zeekr is not just stopping at creating groundbreaking vehicles. The company also plans to launch an 800 kW fast charging station called the V3. Mass production of these stations is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of this year, with a rollout expected in the first quarter of 2024. Zeekr aims to have 450 charging stations in operation by 2025.
Excitement is building as deliveries of the Zeekr 001 FR are set to commence this October. However, interested buyers will have to act fast, as only 99 units will be delivered each month. With its exceptional performance and cutting-edge features, the Zeekr 001 FR is set to make waves in the electric vehicle market.
