President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview with ABC TV channel, answered a question about the recognition of Crimea as Russian and the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics. The head of Ukraine announced his readiness to discuss the status of the territories.

“We can discuss this and find a compromise on how people will live there,” Zelensky told the American TV channel.

He also noted that Ukraine is “not ready for ultimatums” from Russia on the issue of abandoning NATO aspirations and recognizing Crimea, the LPR and the DPR.

The President of Ukraine said earlier that he was ready to discuss all issues with Russian President Vladimir Putin, including the status of Donbass, the problems of the Russian language in Ukraine and the current situation.

On February 24, Putin announced the start of a special military operation in the Donbass. He called its goal “the protection of people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.” The President assured that Russia has no plans to occupy Ukraine, but Moscow will strive for the demilitarization and denazification of this country.
