President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky recorded another video message in which he stated that Russia had started a war not only against Ukraine, but also against Europe. He again invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to sit down at the negotiating table, and called on Europeans to go to Ukraine to protect European interests.

“Fights are going on all over Ukraine. Let’s sit down at the negotiating table to stop the death of people,” Mr. Zelensky said in an appeal published on his Telegram channel. He spoke these words in Russian. He also said that Europe is helping Ukraine slowly – the sanctions it imposes are not enough. “We don’t quite see what you are going to do with this, how you are going to defend yourself when you are helping us so slowly in Ukraine,” he said.

He also appealed to citizens of European countries with an appeal to go to Ukraine to protect Europe.

Earlier, Prime Minister of Sweden Magdalena Andersson said that the room from which Mr. Zelensky contacted the participants of the emergency summit looked like a basement or a bunker. Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi said he was unable to hold a scheduled phone call with him. The RIA Novosti agency reported that after Mr. Zelensky did not get in touch, a plane took off from Kiev’s Zhuliany airport, although the airspace was closed. The German Cabinet reported that, according to their information, the Ukrainian president is still in Kyiv.

On February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the start of a special military operation in Ukraine.
