Zelensky: drones do not violate ceasefire in Donbass

by time news

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the use of the Bayraktar drone by Kiev in Donbass is a response to enemy actions, not an attack. He believes that the UAVs do not violate the ceasefire agreement.

“We are not advancing, we are responding in accordance with those agreements on the ceasefire regime. It is in this format that Ukraine will continue to act. As for UAVs and other weapons, I believe that in Ukraine they are specifically for protection, and when the Ukrainian army feels that it is necessary to defend its land, it does so. And it will continue to act according to this principle, “said Mr. Zelensky during his conversation with journalists in Odessa (quoted by RIA Novosti).

The fact that the first combat use of the Bayraktar TB-2 drone took place in the conflict zone in Donbass became known on the evening of October 26 – first from social networks. Later, the information was confirmed by the General Staff of Ukraine, specifying that the blow was struck “by order of the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, Lieutenant General Valery Zaluzhny.” A batch of such drones was purchased by Kiev during the presidency of Petro Poroshenko.
