President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy has put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council on sanctions against several media owners. They will concern the Novosti media holding, the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Opposition Platform – For Life, Taras Kozak.
Who fell under the sanctions:
- media holding “Novosti” – “112 Ukraine”, NewsOne, ZIK;
- Time Media – First Independent;
- «Teleprostir» – Ukrlife.tv.
The sanctions were imposed for five years. They provide for the blocking of assets, restriction of trading operations, suspension of the fulfillment of economic and financial obligations, revocation of licenses and other restrictions.
Mr Zelensky in February already imposed sanctions separately against the TV channels 112 Ukraine, NewsOne and ZIK. Also, restrictions were introduced against the publications “Strana.ua” and “Shariy.net”.
