Kyiv: Ukraine says it will cost $750 billion to rebuild the war-torn country. President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that it is the duty of the democratic world to rebuild Ukraine. He was speaking at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in Switzerland.
During the meeting, Zelenskiy and other ministers described the damage and the country’s needs since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began on February 24.
Reconstruction of Ukraine is not the task of one country alone. Zelensky said this is the common duty of the entire democratic world. He added that the reconstruction of the country is the biggest contribution in support of global peace.
Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal told the conference that $750 billion is needed to rebuild the country. “Russia has unleashed this bloody war. They caused massive damage to Ukraine. Therefore, I believe that the first source of recovery should be the assets of Russia, which are responsible for the war,” said Denis Schmihal.
