Zelensky attacked Russia while addressing members of the American Congress. Zelensky stated that Ukraine will not give up in the face of all obstacles and threats and will survive everything.
The people of Ukraine have no fear. Ukraine won the first phase of the Russian invasion. Russian tyranny has lost control over us. This war is not temporary and cannot be postponed. Zelensky also pointed out that war cannot be ignored in the hope that the sea or anything else will provide protection.
From America to China, from Europe to Latin America, from every country to Australia, the world is so interconnected and interdependent that one cannot stand aside and feel safe at the same time when a war is going on.
Volodymyr Zelensky also highlighted the relationship between Ukraine and the United States. Both countries are allies in this war. The next year will be a turning point, and I know that Ukrainian courage and American resolve will ensure the future of our common freedom. Civil liberties will stand for values - Zelensky pointed out.
No matter what kind of attack Russia makes against Ukrainian cities like Bakhmut, it will never surrender. The Russians capture the city of 70,000 people day and night, but Bakhmut holds out. Last year, 70,000 people lived in Bakhmut. Only a few civilians are there now. Every inch of that land is soaked in blood. Donbass has been invaded several times amid heavy fighting and hand-to-hand combat. However, Zelensky also stated that Donbass is in Ukraine.
The Russians attack Bakhmut and other beautiful cities with all the weapons they have. The invaders have the upper hand in artillery and explosives. It is true that they have more missiles and aircraft than Ukraine. However, Zelensky added that the defense of the Ukrainian forces is still standing.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky came to the United States for a short visit. The U.S. welcomed the president of Ukraine by announcing an arms aid of 18 billion dollars. This is Zelensky’s first trip abroad since the Russian invasion began in February.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin criticized Zelensky’s visit to America. Putin pointed out that the new moves prove that Ukraine is not interested in peace talks and that their decision is to go to war by buying weapons from the US.
