Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the children’s hospital in Kyiv, which was hit in the massive Russian attacks at the beginning of the month.
He and his wife Olena talked to the little patients and their doctors. It is the largest children’s hospital in the country for serious diseases such as cancer.
In the July 8 attack there, two people died and dozens were injured. At that time, there were about 670 children and a thousand staff members in the hospital.
Many of them had managed to get down into the bomb shelters thanks to the sirens.
Moscow denies hitting the hospital. However, according to a UN mission on the ground, it is “highly likely” that it was a Russian missile that hit the building.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said a little later that the Ukrainian army is under strong pressure in the Donetsk region, bTV writes.
“The situation around Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region in particular has been carefully analyzed by the military leadership. This area has been and continues to be the focus of Russian attacks. Everything possible should be done to strengthen Ukrainian defense positions in the region,” Zelensky said.
