This week the newspaper Libertad Digital published a story with the headline “New milestone for Sánchez with the Civil Guard: this is how the electric motorcycles assigned to Seprona are broken (literally)”. The text of the same news item attached a photograph of one of the new electric motorcycles that the Civil Guard had acquired with a split chassis.
It is a Zero FX from the last consignment that the Civil Guard incorporated into its fleet, and that appears with a split chassis. As explained by the company that supplies the Zero motorcycles, “It is reported that the damage suffered by the motorcycle is due to the use of the motorcycle in the countryside”. Zero wants”deny the published news” and they explain that the reality is different.
“The reality of what happened is that a SEPRONA agent suffered a traffic accident when he was riding the Zero FX causing the indicated damage to the frame of the motorcycle”, according to Zero’s statement. They have already announced that they will initiate legal proceedings against the media outlet and the source of information por “attacking reputation” of the company.
It was at the end of 2022 when the Civil Guard acquired 157 Zero FX model electric motorcycles for a total of 21 million euros. These motorcycles would be delivered to SEPRONA, the Nature Protection Service that uses them on a daily basis to patrol all types of terrain.
Specifically, the Zero FX has a range of up to 146 kilometers in urban travel and 111 in combined. The Civil Guard is not the first to acquire this type of motorcycle. Previously, the National Police Corps already took over a consignment of 76 electric motorcycles, 38 of the FX model and another 38 DS as part of the measures to enhance environmental protection, especially in large cities, where a higher degree of emissions and pollution is concentrated, and sustainable mobility is key to helping improve air quality.

The Zero FX makes its comfort, ease of driving and performance part of its attractions. It is a model of only 131 kilos of weight with a maximum speed of 137 km/h and a range in the city of 146 kilometers. It is powered by the 44 hp ZF 7.2 engine. Like the rest of the Zero models, it has top-notch components such as Showa suspensions, J.Juan brakes, Bosch ABS and Pirelli tires.
