by time news

‘This world won’t make me bad’, the second animated series directed and written by Zerocalcare, debuts on Netflix from 9 June. The narrative world, the unique language and the historical and unmistakable characters of the universe of the Italian cartoonist are back.

The series will consist of six episodes, about half an hour each, and is produced by Movimenti Production, a Banijay group company, in collaboration with Bao Publishing. We will go even deeper into the author’s themes. Among the characters there will be the novelty Cesare who will join Zero, Sarah, Secco and the Armadillo, Zero’s conscience, dubbed by the voice of Valerio Mastandrea.

The synopsis of the series

An old friend returns to the neighborhood after several years away and struggles to recognize the world in which he grew up. Zerocalcare would like to do something for him but realizes that he is unable to help him feel at home again and make the right choice to find his place in the world.

‘This world won’t make me bad’ tells of the difficulty of remaining oneself in the midst of life’s contradictions. The very title of the series, which draws inspiration from a song by a Roman singer-songwriter, represents a sort of mantra, a phrase that Zerocalcare himself repeats, almost to convince himself, in the most difficult moments, those in which the I risk making wrong choices and denying one’s ideals in order to get out of trouble.
