Eternalized as Xica da Silva, the protagonist of the film of the same name by Cacá Diegues released in 1976, she recognizes that the film is a turning point in her career, projecting her name throughout the world. “I always say that reaching 78 years old has this advantage: there is a lot of story to tell”, comments Zezé, whose artistic vocation manifested itself during his pre-adolescence. At her graduation party, chance was providential, as a member of the audience, enchanted by her performance, presented her with a scholarship for Tablado, a traditional theater course.
