Hurdler Sasha Zhoya will not participate in the Diamond League meeting in Lausanne (Switzerland) on Friday due to back problems.

Zhoya had started to suffer from back pain before the Euro in Munich last week, where he finished last in the final following a fall. His injury casts a blur on his end of the season, when he must observe several days of treatment.

His compatriot Pascal Martinot-Lagarde, vice-champion of Europe in the 110m hurdles, replaces him on the starting list in Lausanne, where he will notably face the American world champion Grant Holloway.

Great hope of French athletics, 20 years old, Sasha Zhoya played in 2022 the first season of his career in the senior category, with hurdles of 106 cm against 99 cm for juniors. He was crowned French champion in June in Caen before being eliminated in the semi-finals of the Worlds in Eugene (United States) in July and then finishing 8th in Munich.
