Zico and Wife Recovering After Robbery in Paris: Ex-Football Star Calls Incident an ‘Misfortune’

Former player Zico classified the robbery suffered in Paris on the night of this Thursday (25) as an “misfortune” and said that he and his wife are well and “recovering from the shock.”

The message was posted on Zico’s Instagram account, alongside a photo of him and his wife, Sandra, posing in front of a miniature of the Eiffel Tower.

“As widely reported by the press, I had an unfortunate incident yesterday, July 25, at the beginning of my journey as an ambassador for Team Brazil,” wrote the former player, idol of Flamengo.

I want to reassure everyone, emphasizing that Sandra and I are well and that, despite the material loss, the most important thing is always our health and life.

Zico was in front of the hotel where he is staying, in the 19th district of Paris, with his wife, getting out of a transport company’s car. The suspicion is that the thieves acted in pairs – while one distracted the couple and the driver, the other opened the car and took the suitcase away.

The “Parisién” claims that among the items stolen were a Rolex watch, a diamond-encrusted jewelry, and euro and dollar bills.

Ambassador of the delegation at the Olympics

Zico was announced as the Ambassador of Team Brazil in February. The idea of the COB was to have in this position a sports idol who had never competed in the Olympic Games.

The former player participated in the Pre-Olympic for Munich-1972 but did not make the final list. At that time, Brazil fell in the group stage after earning only one point.
