Zimbabwe beat Australia at home to create a historic record.

Zimbabwe tour Australia for a three-match ODI series. Australia won the first and second ODIs by 5 wickets and 8 wickets respectively, starting on 28 August.

In this case, the last match of the series, the third match, started at 9.40 am today at the Townsville ground. Zimbabwe won the toss and invited Australia to bat. Richard Ingarawa, the fast bowler of the Zimbabwe team, shocked the Australian players who entered the field thinking that they could easily win the third match.

Both openers David Warner and Finch continued the game. Richard Ingarawa took the wicket of Captain Finch in the 5th over when Australia had scored 9 runs. The fast bowlers of Zimbabwe immediately took the wicket of Smith who came on the field and gave another shock. The next wicket keeper Alex Carey, Stoinis and Maxwell all took wickets in quick succession. Australia lost 7 wickets for 129 runs.

Chasing a target of 142 runs, Zimbabwe reached the target in 39 overs and recorded a historic victory by defeating the Australian team by 3 wickets at home. Zimbabwe captain Regis Sakhabwa stood his ground till the end and scored 37 runs for the team to win.

Zimbabwe, who have toured Australia so far, have lost 12 of their previous 13 matches and have drawn one match.

For the first time in history, the Zimbabwean team has set a record by defeating the Australian team at home.
