The muscular problem that forced Zirkzee to make a substitution ten minutes from the end of the match against the Nerazzurri turned out to be serious: “The tests Joshua Zirkzee underwent this morning highlighted a first-degree lesion of the left femoral biceps, with expected recovery of 3-4 weeks”, says the club.
The injury, among other things, will cost Zirkzee the national team: the attacker had in fact been called up for the first time by the Orange selection for the friendlies against Scotland and Germany on 22 and 26 March, in preparation for the upcoming summer European Championships.
