Zobra Archer takes 6 wickets – England’s consolation win against South Africa

The 3rd and final ODI between South Africa and England took place in Kimberley yesterday day-night.

Batting first, England scored 346 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Opener David Malan and captain Jos Buttler scored centuries.

Malan scored 118 runs off 114 balls (7 fours, 6 sixes), Buttler scored 131 runs off 127 balls with 16 fours, 7 sixes, and Moeen Ali scored 41 runs off 23 balls (2 fours, 4 sixes). Nikiti took 4 wickets and Marco Johnson took 2 wickets.

South Africa were then bowled out for 287 in 43 overs. England won by 59 runs. Having lost the first 2 matches, England had already lost the series.

Thus, this victory was comforting for the team.

Heinrich Klaasen scored 80 off 62 balls (7 fours, 2 sixes) and Hendricks 52 runs and 6 fours.

Zobra Archer bowled tremendously and took 6 wickets for 68 runs. Adil Rashud got 3 wickets.

South Africa won the 3-match ODI series 2-1.
