Facebook intends to restructure its work with younger audiences rather than older people in the coming years, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said. He announced this after the publication of the company’s financial statements for the third quarter of 2021.
“We are repurposing our teams to act as a guiding light for young people, rather than optimizing for more seniors,” Mr. Zuckerberg said during a phone call with investors. The process will take “years, not months,” he said (quoted by Reuters).
Facebook’s third-quarter performance was worse than the company’s forecasts. Revenue increased by 35% compared to the same period last year and amounted to $ 29 billion against the expected $ 29.57 billion. The number of active users for the month amounted to 2.91 billion against the expected 2.93 billion.
